At the Inaugural parade yesterday, I decided to keep my camera in my pocket when the president and first lady passed by. I wanted to take in the moment instead of spending any of it adjusting the zoom.
After that, I photographed Joe Biden on the parade route like he was a supermodel walking a runway.
Not surprisingly, he knows how to work a parade crowd. Walking straight down the street and waving isn’t for him. He zigzagged his way down and made a variety of poses, among them waving, pumping his fist, pointing, and–my favorite–stopping and raising both arms as if to say, “Hey guys, it’s me, Joe. I’m your buddy.”
